Greetings Doggo Lovers,

It’s our favorite day of the week…HAPPY FURiday!

Our Montana headquarters is a winter wonderland filled with snow; we hope this weekend you’re able to get out, no matter the weather, and enjoy a romp around with your Doggo bestie.

Speaking of besties, we wanted to tell you about one of Dr. Wolf’s latest patients, a sweet “Pittie Mix” named Sassy.

For those who are unfamiliar with Dr. Wolf’s work, he is a retired vet from Georgia who provides life-saving services for sick and injured dogs whose owners do not have the means to pay for the treatment.

He is also a We Love Doggos “Lend-A-Paw” awardee. That means the We Love Doggos Hero Club periodically sponsors treatment for dogs that he helps.

NOW…back to Sassy! This sweet gal came to Dr. Wolf with something called a pyometra; a uterus infection. YEEOUCH! Untreated, this infection could eventually kill this sweet little girl.

Dr. Wolf was eager to help Sassy get out of pain fast and performed the surgery. Sassy is now recovering and will be comfortable and irritation free for the upcoming holiday season.

Sassy, WE LOVE YOU!

Who else wants to crawl into that cozy doggo bed with Sassy?? I know I do!

This Weekly PUPdate, we are excited to share about our active role in Mission Valley Animal Shelter’s annual fundraising gala, “Wags and Whiskers.”

Thanks to our amazing We Love Doggos Hero Club members, we were able to help sponsor their biggest yearly fundraiser!

Additionally, we were able to provide some very cool auction items for the event to maximize their earnings. Mission Valley Animal Shelter sends their gratitude to each of you; their team was thrilled with the surplus of support and said, “WOW, your generosity made this event awesome.”

We Love Doggos Charity Founder, Terry Williamson, was lucky enough to attend the event. He relayed that there were nearly 250 guests, all there to provide “a voice for those who cannot speak,” which is Mission Valley’s heartfelt slogan.

The funds from this event will go directly to rescuing more pets nationwide and improving their quality of life while in the shelter.

We hope it brings you joy to know how many community members out there are MORE than willing to take a night off to give back to Doggos. It certainly warms our hearts.

Today’s PUPdate comes from Dr. Wolf over at Community Veterinary Care in Acworth, Georgia!

Dr. Wolf, as you may remember, is a retired veterinarian. He spent his entire career helping sick and injured animals, but retired so he could do what he REAL wanted to do…help sick and injured animals!

The difference is that now he does it FOR FREE!

That’s right, he is funded entirely by donations and uses all of the funds he receives to cover the actual costs of providing the treatment without charging the owner a penny!

When we heard this story we KNEW he was the kind of person our Hero Club wanted to sponsor.

Meet Blue! He’s one of the dogs that the We Love Doggos Hero Club recently sponsored.

This little guy is such a sweet and gentle dachshund. He was hit by a car last week and fractured his hind rear leg. His family didn’t have the funds needed to get the leg fixed and was faced with the horrible reality that they were going to have to put Blue down.

That’s when we got a call asking if we could help with Blue! 14 seconds later we answered with a HECK YEAH and our Hero Club agreed to sponsor his treatment.
We Love Doggos Charity is happy to report that surgery was successful, and that Blue is on the mend.

Dr. Wolf plans on sending us before and after photos once this kind doggo is fully healed.

Blue, we love you!!

Our monthly sponsorships are the backbone of what we do to protect and advocate for doggos in need. We are so grateful for each one of you for helping us support charity initiatives like Dr. Wolf’s!

In this week’s Weekly PUPdate we are focusing on the tremendous work the animal rescue shelters we support do.

Mama’s and Mutts (MAMCO) is one of those and we couldn’t be prouder of them and the incredible work they do. They specialize in rescuing pregnant and nursing dogs in at-risk situations. Recently they loaded up the cars, vans, trailers – anything that could transport Doggos actually – and headed to a kill shelter in Texas faced with the sad responsibility of euthanizing every animal in the shelter.

Dogs, cats, adult, pregnant…EVERY animal was evacuated.

The We Love Doggos Hero Club provided financial support and otherwise aided in the support of 6 Doggos in their care.

Nipsey was one of the sweet little guys. You probably read about him recently as he was voted our Super Doggo of the Week this week. Seeing Nipsey go home motivates us so much.

Nispey will never know how bad things were for him, his momma, or his brother and sisters, all of whom were also rescued.

To celebrate we wanted you to see Nipsey at his BEST! Here’s our SuperDoggo with his professional headshot! He’s such a celebrity!

Next, with the holidays right around the corner, we’re strategizing for fall and winter fundraisers. From Doggo Turkey Trots to Shelter Wishlist Giving Tree’s, there is a lot to look forward to.

We hope to spread a message of gratitude this holiday season and can’t wait to share all of our upcoming opportunities to give back.
Oh, and one last thing…I wanted to share my families latest greatest news: your brand AmbassaDOG, Ellie, has a new FURever friend!!!

We rescued this sweet two-year-old Aussie just one week ago. She is a PAWfect addition to our little fuzzy family. Ellie loves her and so do we!

Our Doggo-loving community had a really, REALLY good week.

Boss Goes Home!

We sent out a community-wide Dogg-O-Lert a couple weeks ago and, first pass, were not successful in finding Boss a new long-term foster home in the Salt Lake City area.

But, if you know us, we don’t quit, especially when one of our furry friends is in a high-risk situation.

So, we tried again. Along the way…THIS HAPPENED!

Just as hoped, Boss is now in a long-term foster-to-adopt home in Utah!

Mission PAWsible – Operation BARK-Yard!

You may remember, a few months ago we launched Mission PAWsible, a new initiative sponsored by the Hero Club. The Club adopted a local animal shelter, the Mission Valley Animal Shelter just an hour’s drive away from our Montana headquarters.

Our goal was to bring not only attention but real help to over-capacity, underfunded “no kill” dog rescue shelters.

In July, as the temperatures were soaring into the mid-90’s the two dozen Doggos in the shelter were cool and comfy indoors with a new air conditioning system donated by the Hero Club.

Now, the Hero Club is sponsoring the purchase and installation of a new BARK-Yard!

Yep, We Love Doggos Charity Executive Director, Terry Williamson visited the site yesterday and walked the site with Reava, the shelter manager.

Terry says, “What a unbelievable honor to be able to give such a fun, practical and much needed gift to an incredible facility saving hundred of abandoned, injured, abused and down-on-their luck dogs. I am so proud of our Hero Club and the impact they are making”.

In the future, it will be where Hoomans and Doggos perform their “Meet and Greet” for the first time. It gives us goosebumps to think that we are building the foundation for a place for Doggos to be united with their forever families. It will be a space that evokes joy and comfort for Doggos and Hoomans alike!

We hope you’re as stoked as we are about this next step in making Mission Valley Animal Shelter a more soothing and stable environment for all the pets who spend time there.

What we do as a community will leave an PAWrint long after we’re gone; we thank you for your dedication to our cause.

Meet Dr. Wolf!

Firstly, how incredible is it that a canine veterinarian would have the last name “Wolf”?!  It’s like it was his calling to help doggos in need. Dr. Wolf runs a non-profit in Georgia called Community Veterinary Care.

He shares the same mission as our non-profit, to “help pets and owners in need.” Dr. Wolf was a veterinarian for many years, and now that he’s retired, he’s dedicated to providing medical services to at-risk family pets.

Whether it’s a single mother that doesn’t have the funds to pay for surgery or a low-income family that would otherwise lose their companion animal, Dr. Wolf is eager to serve and passionate about providing support to those that need it most.
