September 30th Weekly Pupdate

Greetings Doggo Lover,

We’re sending all of our love to the Doggos and Hoomans that have been hit hard with Hurricane Ian this week. The damage and loss is heartbreaking, but tucked inside every horrible situation are moments of grace. Here’s one…

THIS is LOVE!

Kenny Vaughan, we, and our 500,000+ doggo lover community salute you. You are a true Hooman Hero!

A second very special “THANK YOU” goes out to the many rescue organizations mobilizing and participating in helping rescue, treat and re-unite animals displaced or injured in the hurricane.

Today our Hero Club made a donation to Red Rover. Since 2005 they have donated over $6M and deployed 245 times into rescue situations like this.

Here are some doggo relief funds that will go directly to the pets in need in The Sunshine State. If you or anyone you know has been impacted by the hurricane, we urge you to share these resources we’ve compiled and lend a helping paw.

Meanwhile, on the west coast, you may have seen one of our “Dogg-O-lerts” yesterday!

Click HERE to Learn More About Boss

We’re looking for a foster in the Provo or Salt Lake City, Utah area for this rambunctious husky named Boss!

He already knows sit and shake, and is a top-notch companion animal; he just needs some time to acclimate!

When you foster to adopt, a shelter works directly with you to provide support for the pet’s easy transition. We believe this is a PAWfect way to ensure that these doggos are placed in lifelong homes.

Ghandi once said “The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.” As we face these challenges together for the welfare of the doggos that need it most, we are sowing the seeds of an even greater society.

From coast to coast, we thank you for your dedication to our mission to save all the doggos!

No Water, No Food, No Hope

It’s heart wrenching, but most doggo lovers have been faced with the situation. We see a stray dog on the side of the road or in a parking lot and KNOW, “If I don’t do something, that dog is going to get hurt or die!”

That is EXACTLY where community member Rebecca McDonald found herself recently.

She got word that there was a skinny, scared little doggo tied to a stake in the front yard of an empty house after the occupant got evicted.

No food. No water. No Hope.

Rebecca said, “Not happening…you are coming with me kid!”

Then the real work started. How do we get this doggo into a great new FURever home? Rebecca put out the call and All Hearts Rescue, a non-profit in Polson, Montana answered!

See All Hearts Rescue’s Facebook Page for More Great Stories!

For this act of bravery, we award Rebecca the prestigious “Hero Club Hooman Hero in Action Award”. A Hooman Hero is a human who goes above and beyond to help a doggo in need and Rebecca definitely did that.

Finally, we couldn’t stand it! We have SO many fantastic stories like this about special Doggos and Hooman Heroes that we created a new digital home for all of them, a “digital dog house” if you will.

Need a couple of dozen smiles? Check it out

PS – It was sad to see how scared this little guy was when he was first rescued. Here he is now! Pretty darn happy and on his way to his new home!

Greetings Doggo Lovers,

First, a special thank you! If you are reading this now, you are one of almost 10,000+ community members who open and read my “Weekly PUPdate” email every Friday.

When I started this just a couple of months ago, I wasn’t sure if it was something people wanted to hear about regularly. I just felt an overwhelming need to tell the amazing stories of the doggos we save and the families we touch.

But you DO! So, I am going to keep doing it!

Tomorrow I meet with the executive team to lay out the Fall plan for the We Love Doggos Charity. Here’s an inside look on some of the things we are talking about:

  • Website Overhaul: We have 500,000+ doggo lovers in our online community now. The website is going to be the dynamic home for not just our stories, but YOUR stories too and it will show the collective impact WE make in doggos lives.
  • Facebook Groups: Did you know we operate four of the largest doggo Facebook Groups in the world? Yep, one of them has almost 200,000 members. These are going to be much more involved in the charity.
  • Mission PAWsible: We provided air conditioning to the Mission Valley Animal Shelter over the summer, but that was just the start of what we are going to do to help our Mission PAWsible spotlight shelter.
  • Fun and Games: We LOVE having fun with our community and we love the holidays. You’ll see some fun contest, games, etc.
  • Hero Club: Our sponsor is making major changes to this amazing club, and we are going to be the benefits of even more visibility and financial support.
  • Partnerships and Sponsorships: You have heard us talk often about one of our primary partners, The Underdog Railroad. We want to do even more with Cara and this incredible organization and find others like her to expand the reach in this area.

Finally, an actual update! Last week we supported two transports from kill shelters and help place 16 doggos…and 4 kittens!

Next week I’ll go back to a summary of the doggos we saved the previous week. I just wanted to say “THANKS” and give you an inside look into the many things we do to make doggos (and hoomans) lives better.

PS – I just found out that The Underdog Railroad is an Amazon Charity. The program is called Amazon Smile and they can get a donation from Amazon every time you use Amazon to make a purchase of anything (not just dog products). Just click the link below and connect your Amazon account!

Hooman Heroes Save Two More Special Doggos

Greetings Doggo Lovers,

We hope this PUPdate finds you well! The Fall season has officially begun, and we are bustling with new initiatives. More importantly, I want to give you a couple of heartwarming updates on two very special doggos.

First up, O-S-C-A-R!

Thank you We Love Doggos Hero Club for matching our contribution and covering the cost of Oscar’s leg amputation. Without it he surely would have been put down in the kill shelter he was in.

But instead…he made a full recovery. And, as hoped, HE WAS ADOPTED!

The foster mom (aka Hooman Hero) that took him in found a co-worker who though that Oscar was the “Bee’s Knees” and made our dream of a FURever home for Oscar a reality.

Here’s a PAWsome photo of them together:

Second, A-U-B-U-R-N!

We were so upset about Auburn’s situation that, two weeks ago, we issued a full-scale Dogg-O-Lert. That’s where we go out to our entire 500,000+ doggo-loving community to see if anyone can help save one of our special furry friends facing certain death in a kill shelter.

Within 24 hours we had TEN community members respond offering immediate, life-saving help.

We are happy to report that Auburn has been moved to a long-term no-kill shelter in order to rest and recover after her surgery. She is safe from harm at last and we hope Auburn will build strength and trust in her time before being adopted out. We appreciate all who responded to our “Dogg-o-lert;” ya’ll are REAL HOOMAN HEROES.

Lastly, folks, we wanted to shoutout the founder of Underdog Railroad, Cara! She is the one that sent us the news of both of these incredible doggos and truly the heartbeat of our rescue efforts. We wanted to wish her a very Happy Birthday from the entire We Love Doggos community!!

Happy Birthday Cara!

Have an unFURgettable weekend and stay tuned for our upcoming action items for the Fall Season! There are always more doggos to support, and we couldn’t do it without your unwavering support.

August 26th Charity Pupdate

Greetings Doggo Lovers,

This is big, I mean really B-I-G!

We are adopting an animal shelter!

By “we” I mean the We Love Doggos Charity along with our now 2,000+ Hero Club Members.

By “adopting” I mean we will be working hand-in-hand with the shelter over the coming months to make significant facility improvements that will make life for the dogs in the shelter much more fun and significantly increase the number of dogs saved there each year.

Quick back story…

I visited the Mission Valley Animal Shelter in Ronan, Montana in 2020. I fell in love with the volunteers, the vision and just how much they all loved saving doggos.

Me dropping off food at Mission Valley Shelter in 2020

I promised to be back some day to do even more. Well, with the support of our doggo-loving Hero Club members that day is TODAY!

I am pleased to announce the launching of a brand new We Love Doggos initiative.

It’s called “Mission PAWsible” and its purpose is to advocate on behalf of dogs everywhere by focusing on the not just the struggles, but the opportunity to positively impact the lives of millions of dogs kept in shelters across the USA.

When it came to time to select the inaugural shelter for the program, I immediately thought Mission Valley Animal Shelter!

The choice became the ultimate “heck yeah!” when I learned that they were the only “no kill” shelter in the entire county!

Also, the shelter is just an hour’s drive away from our Kalispell, Montana headquarters. Our founder, Terry Williamson drove down, toured the facility, and met 1-on-1 with the Shelter Manager, Reva to find out exactly what they needed and how we could help.

Step 1? Make the doggos more comfortable with as new climate control system!

As always, we thank you for your support. We wouldn’t be able to do the life-saving work without dog-loving community members like YOU!

Many more updates as we continue to make progress on this very special mission.

With love and gratitude,
Jesse & Ellie Pickles

August 19th Charity Pupdate

Greetings Doggo Lovers,

It’s Ellie and Jesse here with some exciting news!

If you’ve been following the weekly PUPdate, then I’m certain you’ve heard about our sweet German Shepherd puppy, Oscar.

He was dropped off at a Northern California shelter recently with a bleak prognosis, a non-functioning rear leg. We were unsure whether it was from neglect or a birth defect, but one thing was certain…his leg had to go for him to live his fullest life and possibly ever get adopted.

Through our “Save a Dog Sunday” program, we asked our community to match the $750 donation that the We Love Doggos Charity was making on Oscar’s behalf to cover the $1,500 medical expense. Within hours our donation was matched and Oscar’s surgery date was scheduled.

That was yesterday and we are proud to announce that Oscar’s surgery went off without a hitch!

We received this photo from his foster mama right after and we are relieved that he is resting comfortably. The veterinarian said that Oscar only has two weeks of R&R until he’s ready to be considered up for adoption!

Even cooler? There was a little money left over and we are covering Oscar’s adoption fee too!

Success stories like these are why we step up to the plate every day. We Love Doggos has a passion for offering every homeless doggo a chance to flourish in their FURever home. We know that Oscar is on the way to his soon, and this time, pain free!
Oscar, we love you!!!

With Love and Gratitude,

PS – “Save a Dog Sunday” saved Oscar…zero doubt about it. We should all be really
