Hey Doggo Lovers, Meet Olga.

Olga is a kind-hearted dog mom of two precious Doggos, Daisy and Lola, and a member of our We Love Doggos Facebook VIP Community. Olga shared with us the unique story of how this little family came together, and of course we had to share it with you guys!

It’s always interesting to read the stories we receive from our We Love Doggos community members because more times than not, these stories have an unexpected twist, and this one is no different.

Caution, if you have ever lost a dog, you might need a hankie or two nearby to wipe the tears away.

To get the full impact of this fascinating tale, we must go all the way back to 2015, where we meet Olga’s previous fur-baby, a Dachshund named Armani.

Armani was the apple of Olga’s eye and had been her faithful companion of 13 years. Armani also had a sister that he loved very much, Daisy.

Now Daisy just so happened to be a stray dog that Olga opened her home and heart to and welcomed her into their family. Daisy had grown up with Armani, and the two siblings were inseparable.…until one fateful day in December when Armani crossed over the rainbow bridge.

Olga and Daisy were both devastated. The loss and grief they felt was very real, and very heartbreaking. It was so sad to watch Daisy mope around the house. Olga knew that she could never replace Armani, she eventually needed another companion for Daisy.

Several months passed and in November of 2016, Olga decided it was time to start looking for Daisy’s new brother or sister.

It was a stressful time because Olga didn’t have a vehicle and wasn’t quite sure how she was going to find another companion suitable for Daisy.

Now here’s where the story takes that unexpected twist we mentioned earlier. You know, where the stars align and the universe says, watch this!

Olga contacted Maxx and Me, a 100% volunteer staffed, foster based adoption organization near Tampa, Florida dedicated to helping Doggos in need.

Unfortunately, they had previously been unsuccessful helping Olga find Daisy a new brother or sister, but on December 12, 2016, Olga received a call that would change both their lives.

Maxx and Me called again, and this time they were convinced they had found the perfect doggo for Olga and Daisy. She was a sweet 10-week old Lab / Shepherd mix named Lola. They offered to bring her to Olga’s apartment for a sleepover to see how everyone would get along, and Olga quickly said yes!

They played and bonded so well together, that the very next morning, Olga called and paid the adoption fee right over the phone. Lola was now a part of Olga’s family.

Now it just so happens that on that special cold December morning, the morning when Lola found her new fur-ever home, was exactly one year to the day of Armani’s passing.

Olga believes in her heart of hearts that Lola was sent to her by Armani.

Hey There Delilah…

Meet Delilah, or “Dee-Dee” as we’ve come to know her.

She’s almost two years old, and her birthday is on Valentines Day…must mean her heart and soul are extra loving! ❤️

My husband and I decided that we wanted a companion for Miss Ellie; the gal has been through so much, and sometimes need a little extra spark to get her achy bones moving.

We looked to Australian Shepherd rescue network on Rescue Me, and instantly fell in love with her sweet face. We reached out and never heard anything back…then 3 weeks later we got a message!

Dee-Dee was being rehomed, as her parents had been offered their dream job abroad and didn’t want to change her current mountain lifestyle. We met them and could see the heartache on their faces over letting her go- it must’ve been a very difficult decision, but they were doing what they thought was best for Delilah.

Delilah and Ellie instantly bonded, and we tried a little weekend sleepover to ensure that it was a good match. It certainly was!

Delilah has lifted our spirits so much, and while it took her a few days to reacclimate her new home, she has fit in PAWfectly to our little family.

She’s such a sweet pea, and one helluva runner! She ran 5 miles with Matt on Sunday!

It’s certainly not a typical rescue story, and we are so thankful that she’s stumbled into our lives in this way.

Elektra Gets a Sister and Chikoo Makes Three

Happy Thursday Doggo Lovers!

Thursday is one of my favorite days of the week here at the We Love Doggos Charity.

That is because I get to share with you a story of either an amazing Doggo the Hero Club helped save (a SuperDoggo) or a community member who saved a Doggo in need (a Hooman Hero).

This week I want to tell you about two Hooman Heroes from our Facebook communities.

In case you didn’t know, we run and otherwise support 4 of the largest dog Facebook groups in the world, over 427,000 combined members!

First, let’s meet Chelsey. She is a member of our German Shepherds Facebook Group. She rescued two beautiful German Shepherds named Luna and Elektra.

Elektra was a stray dropped off at a kill shelter when she was just 8 months old. Luckily, Chelsey found her there before her time was up and brought her home.

Elektra was happy, but Chelsea sensed that she needed another furry friend to really thrive. So, she kept her eyes open for a second opportunity to help another dog in need.

Boom! The universe delivered. Shortly thereafter she found out about a new litter of German Shepard puppies that needed homes. She brought Luna home not long after and Elektra and Luna have been best friends ever since! In the dog rescue world, that’s a “Two FUR”, get it…lol!

Second, we want to introduce you to Harshada. She is a member of our Dachshund Love Facebook Group.

She was already a rescue momma to two special Doggos when she spotted Chikoo and her brother abandoned on a busy street near the airport.

Most people would have kept on walking, not thinking twice about what might happen to these two little guys.

Not Harshada! She found a FUR-ever home for Chikoo’s brother but was WAY in love with Chikoo and couldn’t let her go.

Now there are THREE rescue Doggos all together in one incredible FUR-ever home filled with love and joy from Harshada and the rest of her Hooman family.

The message is clear, we stand the tallest when we stoop to help others in need. Sometime those “others in need” are furry and have 4 legs.

We love them just the same.

Nipsey Gets Rescued BEFORE He Was Born!

NipsyMeet Nipsey, a three-month old Heeler mutt who was rescued before he was even born (seriously!)

This little guy was rescued by Moms and Mutts, one of the many amazing dog rescue organizations our Hero Club helps support.

Their mission is to provide shelter, veterinary care, and permanent placement for pregnant and nursing dogs, cats, and abandoned litters who have been surrendered or abandoned in Colorado and surrounding states.

Just a few short weeks ago, the incredible team of volunteers at MAMCO drove to Texas and completely emptied out a facility that was well over capacity.

It just so happens that little Nipsey’s mama was one of those Doggos rescued!

Shortly after arriving safe and sound in Colorado, she gave birth to Nipsey along with his three siblings.

Here he is on the front seat of the car (with a huge belly full of food!) on his way to his new FURever home! He has no idea that without help things would have ended far worse for him.

We can’t wait to see what camping trips, bike riding adventures, and endless joy he has in store.

Now, thanks to our Hero Club’s donation and MAMCO’s determined staff of heroes, Nipsey is part of OUR family too, the We Love Doggos one, and we will keep you updated on his adventures ahead.

Boss Finds A Home & Gidget’s Hooman Hero

Hey Doggo lovers, today we’ve got a fantastic update on a super doggo, and a feature on one of our own Hooman Heroes from the We Love Doggos community.

If you’ve been following the story over the past couple of weeks, you know that on September 29th, we issued a Dogg-O-Lert in hopes of saving a handsome little Husky named Boss.

This poor little guy had already been sitting in the shelter for a little over two weeks and his outcome was quite grim. That’s when something amazing happened…

Support from our Hooman Heroes across the country poured in and offered to help. Within days, Boss was re-located to a no-kill shelter and was safe. The only thing left was help find Boss his new fur-ever home in Utah.

Now, just 12 days later, Boss has been placed in a foster-to-adopt environment with his new family in Utah. Boss is home at last!

Gidget’s Hooman Hero

Cynthia, a dog mom of two sweet rescue pups, enjoys spending time at the farmer’s market.

It’s a weekly outing for her during the summer months, and it was on one of these outings that a sweet little black and white doggo caught Cynthia’s attention.

Gidget, a 2-year-old Rat Terrier mix was playing inside an adoption booth run by one of the local shelters. She had been relocated between several kill shelters and had also recently been adopted, but was returned due to her high energy levels.

Cynthia went home that day without Gidget, but Gidget stayed on her mind. She wanted desperately to add this little live-wire to her family, but was unsure if it would work out.

Over the next couple of weeks, Cynthia would return to the Farmer’s market to visit Gidget, and once even brough her two other rescue doggos to see how they would interact. Once Cynthia saw how well they played together and got along, she knew it was meant to be.

Returning to the Farmer’s Market the following Friday, Cynthia headed straight to the shelter’s booth and adopted Gidget on the spot. She was full of energy, and very scared as you can probably imagine, but Cynthia was determined to make Gidget understand that the shelter-shuffle life was finally over.

The first night Gidget slept in Cynthia’s arms, and from that moment on, knew that she had found her fur-ever home. Cynthia says she is a true joy, and all she needed was a chance to be loved and accepted.

Meet Farrah

This sweet baby was abandoned by a family that thought she was a picky eater; they were tired of her not accepting the food they gave her. It turns out that Farrah has an enzyme disease and struggles to process her food! When we first met this sweet Saint Bernard, she was weighing in at 52lbs…at her age, she should have been at 70-80lbs. We Love Doggos stepped in to help the shelter to get to the bottom of this medical condition so that this doggo could find her way to her FURever home with a full belly! After providing her with a specialty diet, she gained some pounds back and was adopted to a patient and loving family that is willing to cater to Farrah’s dietary needs.
