Freedom Ride
Freedom Ride is our program dedicated to saving dogs from kill shelters and transporting them to safety. Partnering with The Underdog Railroad, we travel alongside rescue teams, picking up dogs from Northern California shelters and bringing them to foster families or new forever homes. Each journey can span hundreds of miles, but it’s always worth it to know that we are giving these dogs a second chance at life. By providing safe transport, we help bridge the gap between life-threatening situations and the promise of a brighter future.

Our Packo Partner, The Underdog Railroad
For Freedom Ride #23, our invaluable partner was Cara and The Underdog Railroad. Prior to this mission, Cara had been reliant on borrowing a van from a kill shelter, which limited the number of dogs she could save. Determined to expand her impact, Cara had been diligently saving for her own van over the past few years. Thanks to the incredible generosity of the We Love Doggos community, we were able to accelerate Cara's dream of van ownership, allowing her to transport more dogs to safety. This mission marked the inaugural journey of Cara's new van, a testament to the collective efforts of dog lovers everywhere in making the world a better place for dogs.

Across 3,049 miles and 51 hours of relentless dedication, our team of 12 compassionate souls embarked on a life-saving mission to transport 24 dogs to safety. Through 8 transport legs and the collaboration of 4 dog rescue organizations, we navigated through the challenges of coordinating with 5 fosters and navigating the corridors of 3 kill shelters.
